Fertility & Preconception Support

Preconception and fertility care is a little like preparing the soil before planting a seed

Naturopathy

Naturopathic care may include individualised nutritional and lifestyle support, with consideration of factors such as diet, nutrient status, digestive health and general wellbeing.

Remedial and pregnancy massage

Where appropriate, remedial or pregnancy-focused massage may form part of your broader care.

Collaborative care

We believe good fertility care should fit alongside appropriate medical care.

If you are working with a GP, fertility specialist or IVF clinic, we can provide complementary support while keeping your existing medical treatment central to your care.

What happens at your first fertility consultation?

Your first consultation is an opportunity to look at your health history, current concerns and fertility goals in detail.

Depending on your circumstances, your practitioner may discuss your menstrual cycle, reproductive health, nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, digestive health, previous fertility treatment and relevant medical history.

Your practitioner will then discuss an individualised care plan with you, including which treatments or supportive approaches may be appropriate.

If you're already working with a GP, fertility specialist or IVF clinic, bring along any relevant information or reports that may help us understand your care.

Frequently asked questions

Can acupuncture support fertility?

Acupuncture may form part of an individualised fertility or preconception care plan. Whether it is appropriate for you depends on your circumstances, health history and any fertility treatment you may be receiving.

Your practitioner can discuss the potential role of acupuncture during your consultation.

Can I have acupuncture while undergoing IVF?

Acupuncture may be incorporated into supportive care during an IVF journey, depending on your individual circumstances and treatment plan.

We encourage you to keep your fertility specialist informed about any complementary care you are receiving.

For more information, see our IVF Support page.

Do you support male fertility?

Yes. Fertility is a shared journey, and we provide consultations for men as well as women.

Your practitioner can discuss general health, nutrition, lifestyle and other factors relevant to your individual circumstances, while recommending appropriate medical assessment where required.

What is PMOS?

PMOS stands for Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, the new name for the condition previously known as PCOS.

If you have previously been diagnosed with PCOS, you may see both terms used during the transition to the new terminology.

Can I see you before starting IVF?

Yes. Some people choose to seek preconception or supportive care before beginning IVF.

Your practitioner can discuss your health history, goals and treatment plan and help determine what type of complementary care may be appropriate for you.

How early should I start preparing for pregnancy?

There is no single starting point that is right for everyone.

If you're considering pregnancy, a preconception consultation can be an opportunity to review your health, discuss your goals and identify areas where individualised support may be useful.

Your fertility journey is yours

Fertility can bring excitement, uncertainty, hope and sometimes a lot of questions.

You don't have to navigate it alone.

At Diamond Creek Natural Medicine Centre, we take the time to understand where you are now, what you've been through and what support you're looking for.

Not sure where to start? Book a 15-minute discovery call.

We'd love to meet you.

Preconception care is an opportunity to look at your health before pregnancy and consider what may be relevant to you and your fertility journey.

Whether you're thinking about starting a family, have been trying to conceive, are navigating hormonal or menstrual concerns, or are preparing for IVF, we take the time to understand the bigger picture of your health and what you're hoping for.

At Diamond Creek Natural Medicine Centre, we provide individualised care using acupuncture, Chinese medicine and naturopathy, with nutritional and lifestyle support where appropriate.

Preparing for pregnancy

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to preparing for pregnancy.

Your menstrual cycle, reproductive health, nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, digestive health and general wellbeing may all form part of the conversation.

Your practitioner will take the time to understand your history and goals before discussing an approach to care that is appropriate for you.
